Traditionally, PowerWright celebrates the holidays with its annual Christmas Party which includes games, good food, and a non-traditional White Elephant Gift Exchange. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, PowerWright facilities remain closed and all employees continue to work remotely. This change in operation forced the staff to be creative in accomplishing similar fun, virtually, without losing the nostalgia of past festivities. We believe the mission was accomplished!
Employees were still encouraged to dress in festive holiday attire, they received a meal of their choice delivered to their home that evening via delivery service, and then joined the TEAMS Virtual Christmas Party to dine, review PowerWright’s “Year at a Glance”, and play games. Laughs were had by all as we shared the results of our Christmas Picasso game, where employees had to create holiday scenes, without looking, by drawing onto a piece of paper on their heads.
The White Elephant Gift Exchange did not disappoint. This year, a Wheel of Names was spun to select an employee. That employee could then choose to “unwrap” one of many numbered gifts displayed on a PowerPoint slide or steal someone else’s gift. By the end of the evening, everyone was full, fun was had by all, and everyone looked forward to receiving their gifts thanks to Amazon delivery!
